For me, meditation is found in the dreamy pools of watercolor paint. The palate represents absolute freedom to me — free flowing, free brush strokes, loosening up and letting go. It’s an outlet for creative energy and usually jumpstarts more projects and pushes me in my photographic, encaustic, and anthotype work. Watercolor painting provides me bonding time with my Dad who is also an artist. We commit to setting aside a few hours per week where we can both be creative and push each other to freely paint, experiment and try new things.
Currently I am working on painting from my own photographs using a technique combining a wet-on-wet process with fine detailing, dry brush and ink pen. The more I paint the more I train my eye to the color and composition of the world around me.
